Egypt is a Muslim based country. Most of the locals have their shoulders and heads covered.
For tourists it is not required, however, when visiting a Mosque or a Church shoulders should be covered.
Basically Egyptian people are pretty easy going... just remember to have respect for their customs.

Well this is a very broad question....
There are several ways to get around.. the most common being the train or bus.
You can also take a private car... a little more on the money though.
As for looking around the cities.. Luxor for example.. please look at our tour page on this site.
Another great way to see the unique environment of the country is to cruise along the Nile from Luxor to Aswan.
We can arrange for you accommodation and tours in any city you desire.

Yes Baksheesh is tipping. This is not an Arabic word and was only introduced to Egypt from tourists.
When tipping it is up to your descretion. Should you not want to tip you dont have to, however, do not expect the best service.
Please remember the average Egyptian wage is LE250( egyptian pounds) a month. This is about $72 AUD/ $50 USD / 34 EURO / 25 GBP and the cost of living here is quite high for people.. so when they give you a service you should give them a tip.

Egypt is a very safe country. ( ok except when crossing a road BE CAREFUL!!)
Chances of you being robbed here are very very small....
I am 99% sure that you wont get kidnapped... but that last 1% is the scary bit. Only kidding! you are quite safe here.
The Egyptian government has a specific police department just for tourists.
Like every country I am sure somewhere there are religious issues.. but for the long time that I have lived here (MIA) there have not been any. It is great to see Christians and Muslims living side by side without any issues.

Egyptians are not out to hurt you.. they want only to make money to live.
If you are hasseled please be polite and tell them to leave you alone. Or you could just ignore them.
Like I said.. majority are not out to hurt you just trying to earn a living.
